Joe has directed his turning skills and lighting expertise toward the crafting of “green” lamps. The torchieres shown here are six feet tall with a 17-20 inch bowl. Each unique lamp is carefully constructed of sustainably harvested wood and very efficient lighting technologies. They are fine examples of the turner’s art.
These torchieres use either a circular high-output T-5 fluorescent lamp with a dimmer to produce a maximum light output equivalent to more than a 200 watt incandescent with about 58 watts or very efficient LED lighting.
The lamp shown here is made of mahogany with carved collar and sock of walnut. It may be ordered turned from soft or hard maple or oak for $1550 or $1650 for mahogany. Ask about other woods.
